I just want to say, I have got to be the most thrifty text book shopper ever. The texts for the three classes I am taking this semester would have cost me $275.65 if I have just gone to the uni bookstore and bought them all. Instead, being thrifty and checking second hand stores and so forth, my text books only cost me $89.84! So I saved $185.81!! Woot!
So I am already working on my first essay... one of my English profs sent out the essay topics on Fri, and where I have already done some of the reading, I can get started right away. It is going to take a little bit of thinking to get myself started on it, but I've already got some ideas written down and just have to wait for that moment when everything clicks into place. I've learned that is how essays work for me. I can sit for hours and feel like the essay is never going to come together, and then some idea will come to me that just makes everything make sense. So I have learned not to dispair- and this is why I have learned not to procrastinate when writing essays!
I am totally pumped for my Roman Myth and Religion class. I have started reading Metamorphoses, and it's pretty interesting stuff! I am really enjoying it. I have never known many myths, and suddenly I am understanding everything that I have heard allusions to throughout my English Lit history. It's a lot of fun...
So I am officially the most boring person ever... besides school I have done virtually nothing in the past few days. I did go to the market yesterday at lunch and got some yummy samosas. And my mom and I walked the harbour passage yesterday afternoon. And that is about the extent of my excitment...
