So I have pretty much reached the point where I feel like a zombie... up at 6:45, shower, wake the kids up, take them to breakfast, walk them to the reheasal hall, sit at my computer and work or at least pretend to work, eat lunch, work more or nap, walk the kids home, go to a show, sleep, up at 6:45...
It's a routine that I've got figured out that's for sure.
And, it is sooooooooooooooooo hot up here. It's supposed to be 36 degress outside today, and that's not counting the humidex!!! The dorms are not air conditioned and we are on the third floor. It's so steamy and hot that you can feel the air. Last night I was actually having a hard time breathing.
Otherwise things are going well...
I had a crazy night on Saturday night. We had no kids here on Saturday... the only night in the whole six weeks that there were no kids. So, yes, we had a nice evening...
On a completely different note, I just finished reading a really good novel called "George and Rue" by Canadian author George Elliot Clarke. It is based on a true story about two black men who murdered a taxi driver in Fredericton. It was really captivating and although a little gory and graphic at times, really developed the characters and created a vivid picture of life in the late 1940's and the stereotypes and prejudices put on black people in the rural Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. His use of description was very notable... frequently he used fantastic adjectives and techniques to describe the characters, and more specifically their physical appearances. The description was balanced with a strong narrative and insight into the motives and circumstances that lead the two brothers to committ murder. So check it out...
