I am officially in Stratford. I arrived Tuesday evening after a day of Planes Trains and Automobiles... My stopover in Toronto ended up being pretty enjoyable. I called up my cousin and we went for a beer during the three hour wait I had between the plane and the train. My cousin and I do well to see each other one a year, so I always take advantage of any oppertunity I have to see her. She is the only cousin I have that I actually keep tabs on... By the time I made it to the dorms in Stratford I thought I was going to die. See, I decided to pack all my stuff in my giant "backpacking" pack, so I could carry it all on my back. It seemed like a good idea when I only had to carry it five minutes. But by the time I had had it on my back for 30-40 min, I thought I was going to die. Fortunatly my back didn't hurt the next morning, so all is well. Although I do have bruises on my collarbone where the straps were laying. Work is going great. The students don't arrive until Sunday, so I have been doing a lot of paperwork, photocopying, organizing, making schedules, etc.... I am really enjoying it. Once I get more familiar with my surroundings and feel comfortable I will be even more happy. I'm in that adjustment phase right now, where it still feels weird to walk around the festival theatre making photocopies and stuff. Everytime I walk into the building I feel like someone is going to stop me and tell me I shouldn't be there. I have to mention this: I went out to supper after my first day of work, and it was the most delicious meal I have had in a long time. I went to this restaurant where they have homecooked meals, everything is fresh and real and yummy. I had these stuffed peppers that were stuff with coucous and zuccinie and carrots and broccli, and served with a feta cheese-dill sauce. Oh my god- it was heavenly. Then I had a piece of pecan maple pie for dessert. It was delightful. I waddled out of the restaurant a happy customer. Well, enough slacking off.... I have to figure out how much pizza to order for 75 people.
