UPDATE: I think my sickness is almost all gone. I still have a bit of a stuffy nose, but other than that, I feel so much better than I have the past few days. I've been fairly busy lately. I met a guy, named Matt, last Friday. A mutual friend set us up, and we actually get along really well. We went out to Melvins on Saturday night. My friend Lydia was down for the weekend so she came too, and I ran into Anne K. who's boyfriend is friends/aquaintanced with the guy I am seeing. So, to make a long story short we all hung out together, and consumed ungodly amounts of alcohol.
Umm... Saturday... went to see one of the Comedy Fest shows with Lydia and her b/f and his friend. (Matt was busy with a band reheasal- he's a drummer.) It made for some really good laughs- I was impressed. I have never seen live stand up comedy, so I was a little unsure whether or not I would enjoy it. It was awesome, though!
Sunday I woke up sick. I slept most of the day. That evening I went to open-mic night at Cougars with Matt. Spoke to an old boyfriend that I havn't spoken to in, oh, about 4 years. Most theatre/ex-Comedy Knights would know this person, who I will refer to only by his first name, Jon. It was pretty hilarious actually. I guess he felt really embarassed about what happened between us. The first thing he said to me was "I'm really sorry". I found it hilarious. But at the same time kinda comforting... at least he is a decent person and realizes he was a pretty big jerk to me back when we dated four years ago. Plus, him and Matt are best buds, so it's a good thing that we made amends quickly.
Monday I was really really really really sick. Flu sick. Head in the toilet sick. It was bad.
Tuesday I was still pretty green. Matt wasn't feeling great either, and took the day off work, so we hung out together in the afternoon playing video games.
Last night Matt and I went to open mic night at O'learys, where he played a short set with his band, Taxi. They were pretty good... I like the fact they write their own stuff... instead of just doing covers. I ran into Ariane, an old friend of mine from high school. She's in town for the summer, which is cool.
I cleaned my room today... Matt's coming over and I'm making him supper... a desparate attempt to impress him with my culinary skills... BBQ chicken marinated in a mango-chili sauce, with BBQ carrots and potatoes tossed with ginger 'n garlic, with apple crumble for dessert. I am looking forward to a relaxing evening. I've been going out so much lately that I am starting to get a little worn down. I'm not used to it... it's fun though.
