Tales of Infatuation
So, there's this guy who works out at the mall that I think is really cute... well, hot actually. Besides you, Matt! (I know you will read this!) So, I've been trying to summon up the courage to go talk to him, or devise some scheme to go into the store and ask questions. I hate the way that I feel so nervous talking to people... I mean, really, what's the worst that's going to happen if I just randomly go up and talk to him? Either a) I'll discover that, although he's hot, he cannot say a decent intelligent sentence b) he'll think I'm a weirdo and run into the back room to avoid me.
There's such a modern taboo around talking to strangers. I am at the point where I am tempted to just go up to him and say "You really attractive and I would like to get to know you better. Wanna go for a coffee sometime?" If I did that than I'm figuring the following would happen a) I would discover that he has a girlfriend or is gay or b) he'd say yes. I guess there is always the fear he would go running in the other direction but I'm really just hoping that wouldn't happen. Plus, if he's at work than it's not likely he would run from the store he is working at. Plus, I like to think I am not entirely repulsive and I generally don't smell (at least not bad) and people tend to think I am friendly. And I figure, either way, if I did that, he would at least be flattered and it would boost his ego. I mean, what guy, or girl, doesn't like to be told they are attractive?
Overthink things much, yes please!
So what's your opinion? How do I go about approaching the hot guy at the mall? (Without scaring him off or making a fool out of myself.)
