So, I watched two remarkably entertaining movies last night. Impressive, I know. Firstly, KINSEY. Wow, I really enjoyed this. It was well acted (I'm quite a fan of Laura Linney), and it was refreshing to watch something so down to earth and reliant on the human emotions. Very good.
Secondly, and trust me, I didn't have high expectations, was DIARY OF A MAD BLACK WOMAN. I figured at most I might get a laugh. I generally don't like the "in your face black" comedies (please don't take me as raciest- I just find that they always manage to fall into every black "mutha' fucka' from the ghetto" stereotype, which doesn't appeal to me.) But in fact I laughed a fair bit (or maybe it was just the old insane grandmother yelling "you call the po-po hoe!") Anyway- it had a good story line, and was just more original than most of the other stuff out right now. (Although it was adapted from a book, I believe.) So, it's worth a watch, in my opinion. I enjoyed it- it had a surprising amount of entertainment value.
So, work is driving me fucking physco. I'm so bored I feeling like plucking my eyes out of my head with toothpicks.
Auditions went good last night for Theatre on the Edge. More auditions tonight. Should be good- I'm looking forward to directing.
Anyway- that's all for now....
