I love Montreal! So, the apartment shopping went really well. I was a little nervous (okay, a lot) because I have never done this before. However, I ended up choosing the first place I saw (always the way, eh?!). Here's a random collaboration of words to describe it: tiny, yellow, comfy, amazing location, cheap, clean, home! At $400/ month (heat/lights/hot water included!) and located at the corner of Mount Royal and St. Denis, I couldn't go wrong. It's on the third floor, and looks out the back of the building so I will be avoided the noise and confusion that can accompany an apartment on a main street. My school is close- less than half a km. And the apartment is also directly across the street from the metro. So when I'm downtown at the theatre I can easily connect to the metro. It's very small- about the size of a dorm room. There's a small kitchen area with a small fridge, stove and breakfast knook. There's a bathroom (you guessed it- it's small!). It's just the one room, but it's very nice and bright- the walls are painted yellow! There's also an ice cream shop right next door to the entrance to my building!! So I'm super excited. I viewed two other apartments, and while I liked them, there were a good 200-300 more expensive than this one. So the thrify part of my took control and went with the small, cheap and good local. Mom and I had a nice time exploring the city. She has only ever spent time in the down town, so we took hours and explored the Plateau. We ate at some awesome cafe's and restaurants. We went shopping at some cute retro stores. It was all very exciting. I also got to hook up with a friend of mine from here in Saint John for a beer- which was awesome. She's been living up there for a year now, so I'm happy to have someone there I know already. So yeah! I'm super excited. And today I just got a package in the mail with school info in it. According to the curriculum, I will be doing 1345hours of school work and then an additional 500hours of individual work! So it looks like I'm going to be busy!!!!!!! I'm totally pumped! Anyway- gotta go out with my mom now... will update as my moving plans progress.
