Fortunatly everything turned out for the better for me in regards to Dangerous Liaisons. I knew I wouldn't get a part, and I was right. I realized while auditioning that I really didn't want to act. I just didn't enjoy myself, whereas I used to get a high from auditioning.
So instead (drum roll please) I am Assistant Stage Managing the production. Andrea offered me the position immediatly after the auditions on Sunday, for if I didn't get a part. However, I was thinking about it, and realized I really wanted to ASM, not act! Not to mention I'm flattered that Andrea asked me. It will be nice, because I will be more involved in the rehearsal process this time, and will probably step in for Andrea at some rehearsals when it's inconvienent for her to be there. And it will not be as stressful and full of insane scene changes as Streetcar was. And most of the furniture will be brought in from other companies, so I don't have to go around searching for a lot of stuff. So I will have more of an oppertunity to shadow Andrea and get a feel for what she does as Stage Manager.
So, yeah!!
I'm still sick at the moment. I have an awful cold, sore throat, sniffles, cough, etc etc..... I haven't even had a chance to rest cuz I'm working full time this week. Not that I'm complaining- the sooner I get my credit card bill paid off, the sooner I can start saving for my next trip!!!
So anyway, that's the way the cookie crumbles. Right now I'm addicted to Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I started watching the series (on dvd) before I went away, and I just finished the second season yesterday and barrowed the third season to start. It's so easy to get addicted to. Unfortunatly I think I might have to buy it for myself... I figure if I save my tips from work, I should be able to buy them by spring.... maybe sooner. However I also want to buy Start Wars, and Aladdin, and the Harry Potter 3 when it comes out.... and I still have a few things set aside at Blockbuster. Oh, damn these materialistic addictions.
Now I gotta go get ready for work....
