I'm sorry, I realize I have not been posting at all lately. I've been pretty busy, and making some rather monumental plans lately. But firstly, a little about my Stratford trip.
I did get to Stratford a couple weeks ago. I ended up seeing six shows (in three days!). THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO was allright..... I don't think the weakness was in the production, it was in the piece itself. Dumas' novel is great, but I'm not sure how much I liked it's stage adaptation. THE TRIUMPH OF LOVE was really interesting and nice. The performances were good, and it was just a really nice light hearted piece. CYBELINE was really good.... I really enjoyed it- good performances, good direction, simple, but good, costumes. MACBETH was very disappointing.... the MacDuff was terrible, so the second half was really boring and lacked all pace and intensity. ANYTHING GOES was a delight, even from the back of the balcony in the cheap seats. NOISES OFF was a riot!
Now for the more monumental plans.... I'm leaving for Europe on August 4th!! The backpacking plans have been made.... the ticket has been bought.... the backpack has been chosen..... everything is going perfectly! I'm so incrediably excited! I'm going for eight weeks- my return is September 28th. Yeah!! I'm planning on going to Paris, Brugge, Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Munich, Salsburg, Vienna, Venice, Rome, Interlaken (Switzerland), La Spiaze, Madrid, San Sebastian, Barcelona.... I'm doing a circut with Busabout. I'm very excited- it's gonna be awesome!
I'm going to try and update on here while I'm away (saves from sending mass emails). We'll see what happens, and how easily (and cheaply) I can get internet access!
