All I want is to read a review of THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST that doesn't rip it apart because Mel Gibson used his own interpratation of the bible which everyone might not agree with. I just want to read a MOVIE review, not an analasis of the scripture, and how Gibson did or didn't follow it. It IS a movie, unless I was decieved and it is not a movie. So let's look at the movie: Gibson did the entire movie in dead languages, which created a authentic feel and realism of the time and characters. I thought that was wonderful and brought an amazing atmosphere to the movie. The acting was amazing, especially Jim Cavievel who's potrayal of Christ was extremely realistic. The sets and costumes were amazing, and nearly seamless in my opinion. I love movies that transport you to another time, and THE PASSION succeeded at this.
I could rant on, but I won't bother because I don't consider myself a movie critic, and I don't think any of the fucking critics reviewing this MOVIE deserve to have that title either. If you want to write an essay about how the movie follows the bible or not that write a fucking essay. Don't desguise it in your movie review and give this wonderful and horrific work of art one and a half or two stars because it doesn't follow the Bible word for word.
