I'm so happy I'm back online at home again. I felt like I was lost without it.... *sniff sniff*. Last night (after working 10 hours at Blockbuster) I caught up with Stephanie, who was up from Halifax.... See, her apartment building is condemed after the hurricane.... so she doesn't have a home down there right now. It must be an awful feeling to lose your home like that. They are trying to repair the building, but there was major structural damage, so her and Chris might move anyway, just because.
Friday night my Manager on Duty at Blockbuster completely pissed me off. What happened is a guy had pre-bought Matrix reloaded... he had put $5 down and now he wanted to pay the rest. To do that I knew you had to refund the $5 and then ring it in again like a new sale. My MoD was telling me to do it a completely wrong way- without refunding the $5. So I argued with her and said, thats not right. So I pick up the phone and called Luke, and he wasn't home, so I called Manager at the East side. He talked me through the correct procedure. The rest of the night my supervisor was extremely nasty to me. She went to the back room and stayed there for the next hour while my coworker and I did all the work. Then at 10, when I was off, I went to the back room and my supervisor flipped out on me, saying "Have I ever given you any reason to doubt me. I always do the best for my staff. You are never to call Luke from the counter again or I will write you up, if you want to call Luke come back here on your break. And you are never to call another store on my shift again. When your working with me you do things my way. I was going to take you aside later and show you the correct way to do it, it takes about ten minutes to show you.... (it doesn't take ten minutes... it might take ten seconds, but then again probably not even that.) You completely underminded my authority, and your argued with me in from of customers who are in here everyday..." She was pratically yelling at me. I just said I'm sorry. The when I got tired of hearing it, I said, handing her the movie in my hand, can you rent this out to me. She just flipped and said "Are you not going to listen to me???" I just walked over to the phone and she said "That's it, I'm going to write you up." I just said "I'm off the clock now, I can call whoever I want." So I called the east side manager, then my manger. Nevertheless. I'm very very pissed, and I'm planning on taking the incident straight to the district manager, and then to human resources. I'm not going to say I completely wasn't to blame, because I was probable pretty stong at the cash saying, that's not right. But I knew it wasn't, and I didn't want to get in trouble because I did something wrong and because she didn't know how to do it. Although now she'll say she knew how to do it all along... but I'll just say then why was she showing me the wrong way to do it??? That's not a good supervisor if you ask me.
But she's an immature person.... but she chose the wrong person to mess with, and I think she forgot who my boyfriend is, and that my boyfriend isn't scared to go straight to human resources, especially about her. Plus, Luke's really pissed off about it, so he'll do everything he can to get her in crap. :) I love Luke.
Anyway..... last night I watched the In-Laws (it had Micheal Douglas in it)... it wasn't that great...... but it was entertaining. I laughed a couple times.
That's all for now... I gotta go do homework... grr..... guess what I'm bloody well doing in English class again.... Fucking Wuthering Heights....... grrr....
