Once the market closed at four o'clock today, and finally all the customers were convinced that we were indeed closed and we weren't going to continue serving them, I turned to Sharon and said "That was fucking insane". She said "That is about the only way to put it". After biking uptown, it looked like it might be a nice, relaxed day; busy but not overwhelming. Jubus, was I ever wrong. From about 12:00 on for four hours it was bloody insane. We might have had maybe three or four moments when there weren't customers- and they were simply that, brief moments. Smoothies and ice cream and smoothies and ice cream and ice cream and smoothies... again and again and again.... we even ran completely out of ice (and we have a big honkin ice machine that we emptied out, and it couldn't refill fast enough for us). I'm glad it's over, that's all I can say. However I work the next four days straight... I'm going to be exhausted!
On the way home I stopped at Blockbuster and treated myself to a couple DVD's; Enigma and The Pianist. I probably shouldn't have spent that extra money, but I figure, what the hell... I'm working a lot lately, and hardly spending any, so all is well.
Anyway, I'm bloody exhausted, so I'm going to head to bed and rest.
