I had one of the most relaxing afternoons I have had in such a long time. I was in Hartland (which wasn't as bad a trip as I had anticipated it to be). I finally got a hold of my friend up there, and we hung out for a few hours this afternoon. After cruising around for a while, we found this little spot by the river that was so pretty and tranquil. So we just sat around there for about an hour talking and mellowing out. We waded into the river a bit, and I almost fell in face first, because the rocks were slippery- although Keith caught me before I fell. I was really touched by how concerned he was when I told him about my depression and his reaction when he saw some of the scars I have. I'm always surprised at how concerned people get when they learn what I've been through over the past while. The fact that he said he would be worried about me if I still hurt myself really struck me and made me realize that our friendship isn't just some petty infatuation but something more real. It's amazing how two people can go two years without hardly keeping contact with each other, and then meet up one day and feel just as comfortable with one another as the day they parted.
