Wow, I'm enjoying this week of laziness so much. Yesterday I did get my "goals" accomplished... although while waiting to talk to my principal I felt really anxious and after I couldn't stop fidgeting. It was strange and a little scary. My entire mind and body has been acting so crazy lately that I just never know whats going to happen. Also, I keep waking up at night and can't get back to sleep... which drives me insane.
Anyway, I also watched For You Eyes Only and Billy Madison yesterday. Now I have to go rent another bunch of movies, cuz that was the last of what I rented the first time.
This morning I finished reading One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn. It was very dry- it just describes the entire day for a prisoner, Ivan, in a Siberian forced labour camp. I didn't mind it that much... It was amusing how Ivan seemed to extract some pleasure even in the -30 degree temperatures of Northern Russia. Although the soup sounds vial- broth with black cabbage, some little fish with all the meat cooked off, and, if your lucky, a chunk of potato- Ivan still eats it and enjoys it with emmense pleasure. He ends the book by falling asleep happy because of the good day he had- simply because he got an extra bowl of food at breakfast and at supper, he bought some tabacco, and he had enjoyed building the brick wall at the work site.
Now I'm going to start reading The Tin Flute by Gabrielle Roy. Both novels are for school- I have to write two World Literatue papers based on these books over then next year an a half.
