It has been a very good and realxing Christmas for me this year. Honestly, I would say this was probably one of the best Christmas's in memory, simply because I wasn't nagged at to visit relatives nor was my house wasn't invaded by them.
Tuesday, Christmas Eve, I saw The Two Towers and enjoyed it very much. Then my family and I had a lovely Christmas eve dinner, after which mom and I mulled some cider and sat down to watch The Sound of Music (believe it or not, I have never seen it before...) Then, half way through, my dad and Gram showed up after church and we all piled in the car to visit my Aunt and Uncle. It was a nice quick visit, accompanied by some homemade fudge and almond bark. Then home again, mom and I finished the movie, and went to sleep.
Christmas morning wasn't very exciting this year, which was fine with me. I work up at 8:30, laid in bed for a while and read some... finally dragged my ass out of bed, had breakfast, then sat down to open presents. I got my Ralph Lauren pefume, my facial cleanser, facial powder, some socks, a towel thingy for my hair, some pj bottoms (from gram), some body lotion, some candy, a book (Don't Sweat the Small Stuff for Teens... uugh... just what I always wanted... and it was from my aunt...), $10 blockbuster gift cerfiticate, plus, $75 bucks (from Aunt Margie and Gram)... and then some lottery tickets (a tradition- we always get lots of scratch tickets at Christmas). What was really cool was I won $75 on one of the tickets! Yippie! I didn't get a lot (compared to other years) but I'm completely content with the few gifts I did get. (Even my relatives did a surprisingly good job of buying gifts this year!)
After gifts and eating lots of gumdrop cake and shortbread cookies, Mom and I went to the Nature Park to enjoy the wonderfully sunny day. Then when we got home, dad had supper almost ready, so we ate shortly after. It was yummy! Then, a while later, mom and I actually went for another quick walk at the Park, to wear off some of the food we had eaten!
That evening I cleaned up my room some (amazing that I do this on Christmas...) then my family and I sat down and watched Stripes. It was amusing... Then after that we watched half of Amadeus (my father watches this every Christmas). Then I went to bed fully satisfied with the day.
Now I'm up, and outside is the complete opposite of yesterday's sunny mild morning... it's storming, and cold and windy... Therefore, I anticipate a day of absolute nothingness... :o)
