Thank god for Tylenol 3... Tonight my notorious back muscle spasm is bringing immense pain to my lower back. In fact, on Sunday the spasm started sending shooting shocks (ohh... look at the sibilance!) of pain down my right leg... leaving me to think this might not be good and I should possibly get this looked into. Till then, I shall continue taking hits of codine to ease the pain, and put me into a world of happiness. (Please note, I am not a drug addict. The T3 was perscribed to me for this reason, and I only take it in extreme situations.)
I managed, after begging a couple of my co-workers, to get Friday evening off so I can go see Children of Eden by the KV Players. I expect this to be a decent show because I know (if nothing else) Leigh Rivenbark is a good director who can put on a good show. (I worked with him in 1999 with the Theatre New Brunswick Musical Theatre School.)
I guess I had a good walk today. It was very relaxing... one and a half hours with just me and nature... it was nice. It gave me a good chance to think about somethings going on it my life, and a specific relationship I'm in. A good relationship, don't get me wrong! A reationship I'm extremely happy and content with. But honestly it's all very new and surprising to me. I never expect people to like me (as a friend or more...). It's not that I necessairly have low self-esteem- in fact it's safe to say that my confidence and self-esteem are actually rather high. However, I still never expect people to find me attractive or intelligent and I'm always keeping myself in check as to how I am behaving. This one person, however, makes me feel normal, natural, and like a wonderful human-being. I'm just beginning to realize how great this feeling is, and how great it makes you feel when you know other people are happy too. Man, I'm so damn optimistic and happy lately it's probably making you all feel nauseous.
Okay- to end this, how bout a random word from The Concise Oxford Dictionary published sometime around 1934.
An ichneumon (n) is a small brown weasel-like quadruped allied to mongoose, noted for destroying crocodiles' eggs. Ahhh... isn't that cute?
